In a small ceremony held on December 18 at the head offices of the JTA Co-op Credit Union the organization honoured its Star Teacher of the Year, 2024, Mrs. Nicole Fray- Johnson. Mrs. Nicole Fray-Johnson is an outstanding educator whose 21 years career has been nothing but steal. A grade six teacher at Rollington Town Primary, she holds a Masters degree in educational psychology and is being recognized by the JTA Credit Union for her extraordinary work both in and out of the classroom. She was shortlisted as a nominee representing Region 1 in the MOEY & Lasco/ JTC Teacher of the year competition, 2023. This earned her a certificate of excellence for her outstanding work. Mrs. Fray-Johnson has played a pivotal role in the literacy & numeracy programme at Rollington Town Primary, which supports mastery across Grades 1-6. Mrs. Fray-Johnson is the co-founder of Fruitful Trees Foundation through which she has spearheaded the Life Club. This club mentors at risk boys and to date has positively impacted their academic and social development. She has also established an after-school literacy programme for boys reading below grade level, since its inception this club has mentored several at risk boys who have made significant improvements academically and socially.
For her remarkable work Mrs. Fray-Johnson has been awarded Star Teacher of the Year by the JTA Credit Union.
This is the second year that Credit Union has consistently hosted the programme. The organization is proud to be able to honour and award our educators for the stella work that they perform in and out of the classroom.
