JTA Credit Union creates a bright future for PEP students

By: Gertline White0 comments

It is another school year and families across Jamaica are actively involved in what is deemed to be yet another trying experience with virtual learning. Throughout the midst of this pandemic which has brought many uncertainties, one thing that has remained constant is the JTA Co-operative Credit Union Limited’s (JTACCUL) dedication to supporting our members, especially during this difficult period.

As a part of our desire to play a supporting role in the development of our children, the JTACCUL has awarded 70 of its members’ children who sat this year’s grade six PEP examination, with Bursaries and Grants valued at over $1.2 million. These bursaries and grants are awarded annually to 5 students from each parish, and are intended to encourage the top performing students, while at the same time easing some of the financial burdens faced by our members.

The recipients of these awards are selected based on an assessment of areas which includes academic performances and school involvement. This year’s group of awardees demonstrated stellar performances in all categories, and the JTA Credit Union could not be prouder to recognize them for their achievements. Mr. Robert Ramsay, General Manager, lauds their exemplary performances and encourages all recipients to remain motivated and focused as they begin their secondary level educational journey. He reaffirms that by staying on a path constructed by hard work, it will lead them to reap bigger rewards and attain excellence in the future.

Through our PEP Bursaries and Grants Programme, the JTACCUL is determined to continue playing an active role in the development of education in Jamaica.

Congratulations to our 2021 PEP Bursaries and Grants awardees! We wish you well in your academic ambitions as you continue to make yourselves and your families proud.
